Bollywood has got a long line of biopics coming up in 2020 and one of the most awaited among them is surely “Shershaah” which is scheduled to hit the theatres come July. The film is a tribute to valiant Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra who has had been felicitated with the esteemed Param Vir Chakra for his unparallel grit and courage in the battlefield. Batra was given the name “Shershaah” in the Indian Army and there could not be a better name for his biopic. The movie stars leading Bollywood star Sidharth Malhotra in the titular role while Kiara Advani plays Dimple Cheema, Batra’s fiancée. “Shershaah” will be officially released on July 3, 2020.

“Shershaah” traces the story of the brave captain of the Indian Army right from his college days and continues till his heroic fight and martyrdom in the 1999 Kargil War. Malhotra plays a double role here as both Vikram Batra and Vishal Batra, the Captain’s twin brother. The movie is certainly gping to be one of the turning points of Malhotra’s career. The makers of the film were in a long hunt for the female lead of the film as they could not get the most eligible actor. Later on, they finalized Kiara Advani. “Shershaah” has had been shot across Chandigarh, Palampur as well as Kashmir and Ladakh. The film was officially announced in 2019 May and principal photography started in that very month only. The entire shooting was concluded by January 2020.

“Shershaah” is directed by Vishnuvardhan and written by Sandeep Srivastava. The movie is jointly produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Ajay Shah, Shabbir Boxwala and Himangshu Gandhi. Kamaljeet Negi is behind the cinematography of the film while A. Sreekar Prasad is the editor of the movie. The music of “Shershaah” is composed by Sajid-Wajid and Sachet-Parampara.
