“Bhuj: The Pride of India” is a war action movie that would be released just before the Independence Day this year. The film is based on true events during the 1971 India-Pakistan war and portrays the story of the then Bhuj airport in-charge IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik. The movie features Ajay Devgan in the lead role and he was the sole choice for the central character. The other actors in lead roles in the movie are Sanjay Dutt, Nora Fatehi, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharad Kelkar, Pawan Shankar, Pranitha Subhash an d Ammy Virk. “Bhuj : The Pride of India” will be released on August 15, 2020.
“Bhuj: The Pride of India” tells the story of the destroyed airbase of Bhuj airport during the 1971 India-Pakistan war and how Karnik helped to reconstruct the airbase. Interestingly, for reconstructing the airport, Karnik was helped by none other than a huge team of spirited local women (300). Sonakshi Sinha plays the role of a social activist Sunderben Jetha Madharparya while Nora Fatehi dons the character of a spy. Parineeti Chopra was the initial choice for Fatehi’s role but she could not make it due to date issues and then Fatehi was signed in. Rana Daggubati was also signed in for a major role but he had to leave given health issues. He was replaced by Sharad Kelkar in the film. Sanjay Dutt dons the character of IA Scout Ranchordas Pagi. Pawan Shankar portrayed the character of Omani, the then head of Pakistan ISI.
“Bhuj: The Pride of India” is written and directed by famous Television director Abhishek Dudhaiya. The film is produced by Divya Khosla Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Ginny Khanuja, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Vajir Singh and also Abhishek Dudhaiya. The music of the film is composed by Vishal-Shekhar. Anay Goswamy is the cinematographer of the movie.
