It won’t be exaggerating to claim that “Sadak” was one of the most phenomenal movies of the 1990s and is still remembered fondly by cine lovers. Around 20-years later, the Bhatt gang is back again with another new Bhatt (Alia Bhatt) and the same principal cast for a sequel titled “Sadak 2”. The movie will mark the comeback of Mahesh Bhatt in the director’s chair after 20-odd years and fans can’t keep calm for obvious reasons. “Sadak 2” stars Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt as well as Aditya Roy Kapur. Makrand Deshpande plays the role of main antagonist in the movie. However, while the original film was about Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt primarily, the upcoming sequel will focus more on Dutt and the younger Bhatt (Alia Bhatt). “Sadak 2” will be officially released on July 10, 2020.

“Sadak 2” is a spiritual sequel of the original movie in the sense that the main characters of the film are same but the new one approaches with a fresh storyline. The movie revolves round Ravi’s depression, trauma and his chance encounter with a young woman.  Played by Alia, the young lady is a brave soul and is out to expose the hypocrisy of a fake godman (Makrand Deshpande) who has been exploiting innocent lives in the name of running his ashram. The film is mostly shot across Mumbai, Ooty, Uttarakhand and Mysore. Shooting for the film started on May 2019.

“Sadak 2” is directed by none other than Mahesh Bhatt as well produced by his brother and famous Bollywood producer Mukesh Bhatt. The music of the film is composed by Nadeem Shravan, Jeet Ganguli, Ankit Tiwari and Keshav Tyohar. Jay. I. Patel is the cinematographer of the film while Sandeep Kurup is the editor. The movie is distributed by Fox Star Studios.
