“Haathi Mere Saathi” is an upcoming trilingual film which will be released in Hindi, Telegu (“Aranya”) and Tamil (“Kaadan”) languages. The movie is a tribute to 1971- superhit “Haathi Mere Saathi” made immortal by the legendary Rajesh Khanna. However, the 2020 release will come up with a completely different storyline. The movie stars Rana Daggubati in lead role along with Shriya Pilgaonkar, Pulkit Samrat, Vishnu Vishal as well as Zoya Hussain. The Tamil and Telegu versions have a different cast. “Haathi Mere Saathi” will be released on April 2, 2020 in all the 3 languages.
“Haathi Mere Saathi” is a warcry against rampant elephant abuse happening in India in recent times. Duggabati plays the role of protagonist Bandev who stays in the forest and has found friendship in elephants residing there. The plot thickens when a corporate tycoons decides to cut down the forest as well as the very habitat of residing elephants to expand his empire. This infuriates Bandev and he pledges to protect the forest, his very home and his friends. To help him, he has his whole army of elephant friends are not ready to leave even an inch to corporate lust. Unnikrishnan, who has donned a major role in upcoming Tamil film “Kumki 2” features in “Haathi Mere Saathi” as well. The film has been mostly shot in the jungles of Kerala and Duggabati has shed a whooping 15 kgs to look the part of fierce and intense Bandev.
“Haathi Mere Saathi” is produced by Eros International and directed by Prabu Solomon. The music of the film is composed by Shantanu Moitra while D. Imman has produced the score. Niranjan Iyengar has written the dialogues of the film while the cinematography is handled by Ashok Kumar. The film is edited by Bhuvan Srinivasan. “Haathi Mere Saathi” is distributed by Eros International.
