“Mumbai Saga” marks the first crime drama for Bollywood in 2020 and the movie will be released in the next 4 months. Directed by the celebrated director of “Shootout at Wadala” and “Kaabil” Sanjay Gupta, the upcoming movie features a big ensemble cast featuring John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. Kajal Aggarwal is paired opposite Abraham in the film. The other major actors in the movie are Suniel Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Pankaj Tripathi, Gulshan Grover, Prateik Babbar, Rohit Roy, Samir Soni, Amole Gupte and also Sharman Joshi. “Mumbai Saaga” will be released on June 19, 2020.
As the name says, the film is primarily based in Mumbai, precisely Bombay. “Mumbai Saaga” depicts the story of Bombay back in 80s and 90s when real estate developers and industrialists started closing down mills to build up high-rises and malls. Abraham plays the role of Arnold in the movie and Hashmi dons the character of Chamdi. Sharman Joshi is portraying the part of Inspector Viren Yadav while Pankaj Tripathi is political figure Devraj Chaudhury. Gupta’s movies have always featured powerful female characters and he has got something similar for Kajal Aggarwal in his upcoming movie as well. She dons the role of Jamuna who is first seen as a college-going girl and as the movie progresses, she ends up as Abraham’s wife. For the first time in his life, Soni will don the character of a gangster and he is pretty excited about his new avatar.
“Mumbai Saaga” is produced by Krishan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Sangeeta Ahir and Anuradha Gupta. The music of the film is composed by Tanishq Bagchi, Sachet-Parampara and Mithoon. The background score is performed by Sandeep Shirodkar. The lyrics are penned by Sayeed Quadri, Kumar and Amitabh Bhattacharya. Award-winning cinematographer Ayananka Bose is the cinematographer of the movie.
