“Roohi Afzana”, an upcoming Hindi movie of 2020, is scheduled to hit the silver screens on 5th June, 2020. The movie is basically a comedy horror flick directed by Hardik Mehta, under the banner of Maddock films. The “Dhadak” girl, Jhanvi Kapoor, along with the phenomenal actors Raj kumar Rao and Varun Sharma, are the leading actors in the movie. Among others actors, the movie features Pankaj Tripathi, Seema Pahwa, Ronit Roy and Amna Shariff. The title “Roohi Afzana” has undergone a little change; previously it was titled as “Roo Afzaa”.

“Roohi Afzana” tells the story of a ghost who abducts brides on their honeymoons. Jhanvi Kapoor plays a dual role in the movie as “Roohi Arora” and “AfzanaBedi”. Rajkumar Rao plays the character of “Ravi Panchal “, Vineet Sharma is “Omi Panchal” and Amna Shariff is “Bindiya”. This movie would be Rajkumar Rao’s third venture with Dinesh Vijan after “Stree” and “Made in China”. Reportedly the producer Dinesh Vijnan stated that while casting the female lead, they looked for someone who can portray the contrasting characters with ease. They chose Jhanvi as stood out well with the characters and connected well with the script of the movie. For the male leads, the director stated, Raj Kumar Rao and Varun Sharma are phenomenal actors and comedy is the space where they excel. It’s going to be second horror comedy for Rao after “Stree”.

The story of the movie is written by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, who is also the producer of the movie along with Dinesh Vijan. The complete distribution of the film is done by Jio Studios. The principal photography of the film began on 14thJune 201 in Agra. Amalendu Chaudhary is the cinematographer of the film with Hemanti Sarkar is the editor. The soundtrack of the film is composed by Sachin–Jigar, while the lyrics are written by Priya Saraiya, Jigar Saraiya, Baadshah and Vayu.
