Choreographer-turned-director, Raghav Lawrence is all set to mark his presence in Bollywood with his Hindi directorial debut “Laxmmi Bomb” come May. The upcoming Bollywood comedy horror is an official remake of the super hit Tamil horror comedy “Kanchana” (2011) helmed by the director Raghav himself. “Laxmmi Bomb “is scheduled to hit the silver screens on 22nd May 2020, on the occasion of Eid. The Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is starring in the film, along with the legendary megastar Amitabh Bachhan and “Kabir Singh “actress the stunning Kiara Advani. Other actors in the movie are Tushar Kapoor, R Madhavan, Ashwini Kalsekar and Sharad Kelkar.
Interestingly the plot of the movie revolves round “Raghav (played by Akshay Kumar), a cowardly man who gets possessed by the ghost of a transgender woman who takes revenge against the ones who destructed her life. Reportedly, the megastar Amitabh Bachhan, may be seen as the vengeful transgender ghost in the story. The role of the female lead in Tamil version was not so significant but Kiara (playing as Raghav’s girlfriend “Amisha”) will enjoy a substantial part in Hindi remake.
Taking further, the story and screenplay for the movie is written by the director, Raghav Lawrence himself. The film is produced under the joint banner of Cape of Good Films, Tushar Entertainment House, Shabina Entertainment and Fox Star Studios. The principal photography of the film began on 22nd April 2019 and the final schedule of the film was shot in Dubai. The film’s music is composed by Manj Musik and Tanishk Bagchi, the lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed and Tanishk Bagchi again while the background score has been produced by John Stewart Eduri. Vetri, the original version’s cinematographer, is also behind the cinematography of the adaptation. The complete distribution of the film is done by Fox Star Studios.
