The saint who simply believed in facts and nothing else
Leading saint Swami Dayanand Saraswati was a scholar and had a different way to search the truth and god. Birthday of Dayanand Saraswati is celebrated every year as Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti. He was born on 10th day of the Krishna paksha which is known as Dasami in the month of falgunas per the Hindu calendar. He was born at Tankara, Near Morbi, in the state of Gujarat. Swami Dayanand Saraswati was the saint who founded Arya Samaj and tried to remove the evils spread in the society on the name of religion. Therefore he is known as one of the great socio religious reformer in the History of India.
He was known for many things likewise he was a great scholar, philosopher, social reformer and he was the person who opposed the child marriages, caste variations and differences, untouchability, idol worship, and even animal sacrifice. He published many religious books for instance Satyarth Prakash which means light of truth.
To remove the evils and follow the truth, he founded an organization which was named as Arya Samaj. Arya samaj is present today in more than 100 cities and is well-known for its contribution and a number of activities towards social and religious reforms. There are many organizations raised on the name of Arya samaj, which truly follow the moral values of the society within the framework of the religion.
Many educational institutions were named after Dayanand Saraswati and they celebrate this particular day by organizing special events like showing videos and pictures of Dayanand and even taught the moral principles taught by him. Members of Arya samaj actively participate on this day and organize various activities like free medical camps, free clinics, blood donation camps, etc. to help those who are in need.
