Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow was set up on 10th January 1996 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The campus area of the university is extended to 250 acres. The nearest bus stand is Alambagh Bus Stand which is 9.1 km away, the nearest railway station is 10 km away i.e, Lucknow Railway Station, and the nearest airport is Lucknow Airport which is 7.8 km away from the university. It provides UG, PG, Ph.D., M.Phil, Diploma, and Certificate courses in numerous specializations. All courses are full-time courses and approved by University Grant Commission(UGC). It also has a membership in the Association of Indian Universities.

Eligibility Criteria
- Admission to UG Courses is granted on a valid score in the entrance exam conducted by the university and students should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
- Candidates should have a Graduate degree for admission in PG courses and also a valid score in the entrance exam conducted by the university.
- Candidates seeking admission in Ph.D. & M.Phil are required to have a master's degree and a valid score in the entrance exam.
Placement
There is a placement and training center to enhance the various skills of students like communication skills, leadership, personality development, etc. This placement center contains highly qualified and experienced members who organize seminars, tests, GD to improve the performance of every student.
Scholarship
The university also runs a scholarship program for handicapped students under the guidance of the National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
