The University of Mumbai, erstwhile the University of Bombay or informally Bombay University, is one of the first three state universities in India. It is located in the city of Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra. It is abbreviated as either "UoM" (for University of Mumbai) or "MU" (for Mumbai University).
