The Berhampur University is one of the few universities which came up for the purpose of strengthening Indian education after the Indian Independence. The University was founded in the year 1967 in the state of Odhisha in order to add on to the few public universities that India had at that point of time. The university is located very much near to the influence of the Bay of Bengal. The University has played a very important role already in defining the educational standards of the region as it is entitled to the credit of quite a few learned men across India.

The Berhampur University has quite a few districts of Odhisa under the responsibility of quality higher education. The university boasts of approximately 11 government colleges along with 62 private colleges under its jurisdiction. The University  offers various under graduate and post graduate courses on various different streams like Medicine, Pharmacology, Nursing, Fine Arts along with streams like Science, Arts, Commerce and Engineering. The Berhampur University is considered to be one of the best universities of the region with quite a good track record to back it up. In a recent addition to the curriculum, the Berhampur University has also started with distance education.

Berhampur University came into existence in 1967 in Berhampur, Odisha. It was well recognized by UGC and achieved ‘A’ grade accreditation from NAAC. The courses provided by the university include PG  in Science, Humanities, and Business Studies. It also provides distance education through Harihara Mardaraj Distance Education Center that includes 28 UG, PG, and Professional courses. The campus area of the university is 250 acres.

Eligibility Criteria

• The admission in M.Tech is decided by the GATE & GPAT scorecard.and candidates should have BE/B.Tech degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate
• Candidates seeking admission in Ph.D. need to clear the URET conducted by the university and should have a master’s degree with a minimum 55% aggregate
• Admission in MBA is decided by OJEE        
• Candidates should have a graduate degree for the rest of the master’s course.

Scholarship

The university runs various scholarship programs for the deserving candidates on the basis of their hard work and efforts are National Loan Scholarship, National Scholarship, Post Matric Scholarship, and PG Matric Scholarship. 

Placement

The training and placement center helps students to achieve success in campus placement. The center organizes various workshops, mock tests, seminars, GD to improve student’s academic skills and other interpersonal skills.
