The University of Kashmir is on the western side of the Dal Lake in the city of Srinagar, which lies in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. This Campus is spread over 263 acres.The university is established in the year 1956; few years’ right after India got its independence. The university has been for its large variety of subjects being taught to the students and are being enlightened. The motto of the university is “from darkness to light”. It has been awarded grade "A" by the NAAC in the year 2011. The University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs; it confers honorary degrees to persons of exceptional caliber. It also affiliates and recognizes colleges. The university has affiliated some colleges that are permanent and some of them are constituted. The number of permanent colleges affiliated with this university is 30. It also provides field for the candidates who want to continue their studies further with their research programs.
Journal of Research and Development is a multi-disciplinary and associate survey yearly online scholastic science research journal distributed by Center of Research and Development (CORD), University of Kashmir. The students can opt for not only science, arts, commerce, but also music, technical studies, foreign languages, etc. The location of the university provides a perfect ambience for the scholars and the students to move on with their studies just like the motto says. In a nutshell, it plays an important role in spreading education to the masses of India.
Kashmir University has been a part of the Jammu and Kashmir University before it was divided into two branches. Kashmir University or the University of Kashmir officially became a single developed university in 1969 and it is located at Hazratbal in Srinagar. The university provides opportunities for higher education to aspiring students in the field of Arts, Management, Science & Technology, Commerce, Education, Physical & Material Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry, and many more. The university stood at 51st position in the top universities of the country by QS World University 2020 and also achieved the ‘A+’ grade from NAAC in 2019. Eligibility Criteria
- Admission to B.Tech is decided by the qualifying marks in the JEE Main
- Admission to MBA is decided by the valid marks in the CMAT/MAT examination
- Admission to M.Tech is granted on the basis of qualifying marks in the GATE
- For M.Pharm, candidates need to clear the GPAT examination
- For all other courses, candidates are required to appear for an entrance exam conducted by the university
