Bilaspur Vishwavidyalaya was set up in June 2012 in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. It is a government university and started with its main vision i.e., Towards an Excellence through Equity, Access and Quality Education. The new name of Bilaspur Vishwavidyalaya is Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya. It provides courses under UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in various streams like Food processing & Technology, Hotel Management & Hospitality, Commerce & Financial Studies. The university consists of more than 170 colleges. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission and also a member of AIU.

Bilaspur University Courses

The courses of Bilaspur University include B.Sc, B.Com, BHM, M.Sc, M.Com, PG Diploma, M.Ed, Ph.D., M.Phil. 

Eligibility Criteria

• The admission in BHM is based on merit and candidates should have passed 10+2 with a  minimum of 45%.
• The admission in B.Sc is based on merit and Higher Secondary in the science subject
• The admission in B.Com is granted on the basis of merit and 10+2 with a minimum of 45%
• The admission in M.Sc and M.Com is decided on the basis of merit and candidates should have a graduation degree with a minimum of 45% aggregate.
• The minimum requirement for admission in PG Diploma is a bachelor’s degree in science stream with 45% aggregate. Candidates also need to clear the entrance exam followed by an interview
• The admission in M.Ed is granted on the basis of merit and 50% aggregate marks in B.Ed/B.A-B.Ed/B.Sc-B.Ed with a bachelor degree
• The admission in Ph.D. is decided by the entrance exam (GATE/NET/DET/SLET) followed by an interview and a master’s degree with 55% marks in aggregate
• The admission in M.Phil is given on the basis of a valid score in the DET entrance exam and a master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks

The placement record of the university is very good and almost 80% of the students are selected each year.
