Birsa Agricultural University (Birsa Krishi Viswavidyalaya) is situated at Kanki in Ranchi, Jharkhand and it was started by former PM of India, Late Smt. Indira Gandhi on 26th June 1981. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission and offers UG, PG, and Ph.D. level education courses in various specializations of Agriculture, Forestry, Biotechnology, Horticulture, Dairy Technology, etc. The university also collaborated with ISRO, IndianJournals.com, Virtual Labs, e-GRANTH, ScienceDirect, RK Mission, Holy cross Polytechnic.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates seeking admission in UG courses should have completed 10+2 with PCB/PCM
- Admission to PG courses is based on the entrance exam conducted by the university.
- For MBA, entrance exam followed by GD and interview.
- Admission to Ph.D. is decided by the valid score in the entrance exam conducted by the university and the candidate should have a master's degree.
Placement
There is a placement and training center to help students in learning various interpersonal skills before applying for a job interview. The highest package offered was 4 lakh per annum. Some of the top recruiters are IFFCO, JSLPS, BRLPS, Bayer, and Tech Mahindra. The university also runs internship programs for the 7th-semester students.
