Kannur University (former name is Malabar University)was set up under the “Act No.2 of 1996” passed by the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1966 in Kerala. The main objective of the university is the advancement and evolution of higher studies in the Kasaragod, Kannur, and Wayanad regions of Kerala. Kannur University has 8 campuses that are situated in Kannur, Kasaragod, Payyanur, Kanhangad, Thalassery. UGC Recognized Kannur University is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The total area of land covered by the university campus is 88.61 acres. It provides various courses in the field of Science, Management, Arts, Education, Law, Commerce, etc at UG, PG, and Doctoral degrees.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech must have valid marks in the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) and the final selection is decided by the Counseling.
- Admission to all other UG courses is decided by the Centralized Admission Process
- Candidates looking for entry to M.Tech must have qualifying marks in GATE
- Admission to MBA is allowed on the basis of valid marks in the KMAT/CAT along with GD & PI
- Admission to Doctoral courses need to have a master’s degree and valid marks in the UGC NET/CSIR NET
