The Cochin University of Science and Technology is one of the important universities of technical education in Southern India. The University was established in the year 1971 with the aim of developing higher studies and research in the field of applied science, technology, and commerce. Later, it was transformed into Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986. CUSAT is approved by the University Grant Commission, AICTE and accredited by NAAC with A Grade. The nearest railway station is Ernakulam Junction Railway Station which is 11.4 km away and the nearest airport is Cochin International Airport which is 19.1 km away from the university. The campus size of the university is 180 acres. The Cochin University of Science and Technology plays a major role in administering technical education to the students of Kerala right from the completion of the high school. In the recent times, the Government of India has stated its interest in upgrading the Cochin University of Science and Technology to an Indian Institute of Technology.

The Cochin University of Science and Technology provides education to the students of the state of Kerala and other Indian states in the various fields of Engineering, Environmental Studies, Law, Marine Engineering and Sciences, Law and Medical Scienes. The Cochin University of Science and Technology has played a major role in working with the Government of Kerala to improve the standard of education as well. The UGC has named the Cochin University of Science and Technology as a Centre of Excellence in the field of Lasers and Opto-Electronic Sciences. The Cochin University of Science and Technology is located 15 Km to the North of Ernakulam City and covers a land area of approximately 180 acres.

Eligibility Criteria

• Admission in B.Tech is decided on the basis of a valid score in the KEAM/ CUSAT-CAT entrance exam and the candidates should have 10+2 passed with PCM subjects
• Admission in B.Com LLB, BBA LLB, LLB is granted on the valid score in the CUSAT entrance exam
• Admission in MBA is given on the basis of marks obtained in KMAT/ CAT/ CMAT/ GMAT
• Admission in M.Tech is based on the GATE score followed by GC and personal interview
• Candidates seeking admission in Ph.D. have to clear UGC (NET)/ CSIR (JRF)

Scholarship
