Goa University was set up by the Government of Goa under the Goa University Act of 1984 in Bambolim, Goa. The UGC recognized university is also one of the members of the Association of Indian Universities. It is a prestigious university of India. The foundation of the university was laid back in the year 1984 under the Goa university act of 1984 & commenced its operations on 1st June 1985. It is a public university open to all with the motto “knowledge is divine”. Since 1985 Goa University offers graduate & post graduate studies & research programmes. It is currently accredited to NAAC with a rating of four stars. Designed by painter, sculptor, muralist, graphic designer & architect Satish Gujral Goa University is located on the Taleigao plateau that overlooks the beautiful Arabian Sea & picturesque Dona Paula shores.
The Goa University is well known for the ambience that it provides for the development of education & spread of knowledge. The students can take up various courses in arts, science, commerce, engineering & various other inter disciplinary courses etc. It is esteemed as one of the best open university of India. Eligibility Criteria
- Admission in BE and other UG courses is granted on the basis of a valid score in the Goa Common Entrance Test conducted by the Director of Technical Education
- Admission in MBBS is decided on the basis of obtained marks in the NEET
- Admission in MBA is decided by the XAT/CMAT score and performance in GD & PI
- Admission in M.Phil & Ph.D. is granted on the basis of valid marks in the CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ GATE/ SLT/ JRF exam and a personal interview
