Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University was set up in 1970 in Hisar, Haryana and it is one of the biggest Agriculture universities in Asia. The name of the university is taken from India's seventh Prime Minister, Chaudhary Charan Singh. Its constituent colleges are College of Agriculture, College of Home Sciences, College of Basic Sciences & Humanities, College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and College of Fisheries Science. The university provides various courses under UG, PG, and Doctoral levels. The nearest railway station is the Hisar railway station which is 2 and a half km away and the nearest bus stand is the Hisar bus stand which is 3 km away from the university.
Haryana Agricultural University Courses
The courses offered by the university include B.Sc and B.Tech at the UG level. The PG courses include M.Sc in 12 specializations and MBA in two streams. The research program consists of Ph.D. in 24 streams.
The university keeps 75% of seats reserved for Haryana scholars and 25% of seats are available for the students of other states.
Eligibility Criteria
- The admission in B.Sc is permitted on the basis of the Agriculture Aptitude Test (APT) and candidates must have passed higher secondary from a recognized board
- Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech must have a Diploma in Engineering and a valid score in JEE Mains
- Admission in PG courses is decided on the basis of marks secured in the Common Entrance Test (CET)
- For Ph.D., candidates must have a master’s degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate
- Admission in MBA is permitted on the basis of CAT score

The university has achieved many awards like Krishi Shiksha Samman Award 2019, Haryana Kisan Ratna Award 2019, Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institute Award 2016. It has also ranked at 4th in 2018.
