The Central University of Jharkhand was inaugurated on 1st March 2009 by the former President of India, Shrimati Pratibha Devisingh Patil. She appointed Dr. Darlando T. Khathing the first Vice-chancellor of the university. The university has 9 schools i.e, School of Management Sciences, School of Mass Communication & Media Technologies, School of Languages, School of Natural Sciences, School of Engineering & Technology, School for the Study of Culture, School of Natural Resource Management, School of Social Science & Humanities, and Center for Endangered Languages. The various departments of these schools impart education in various subjects like Engineering, Language, Business Administration, Science, Mass Communication, etc.

Central University of Jharkhand Courses

• The various courses under the PG program include M.Sc, MA, M.Tech, M.Com, MBA, LLM, PG Diploma
• Ph.D. and M.Phil in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, International Relations, Performing Arts, and many more specializations. The number of seats for the Ph.D. and M.Phil programs is not fixed and it may change.

Eligibility Criteria

• Admission in M.Tech is based on the basis of the GATE score 
• Admission in rest of the PG courses need to participate in the CUCET examination
• Admission in Ph.D. and M.Phil is done on the basis of UGC-NET/UGC CSIR NET/SLET/GATE score

Some of the top recruiters of the university are Azim Premji Foundation, Care India, DHL Limited, Kotak Mahindra, HDFC Bank, Safechem Industries, JK Tyre, Vodafone, Indian Oil, Parle, Aditya Birla Group. Most of the students from M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA are selected for the job in the campus placement.
