Kerala University of Health Sciences was the initiative of the Kerala Government in 2010 to deliver advanced learning, teaching, training to the people of Kerala in the field of modern and traditional science. The institution was built in the Thrissur city of central Kerala. The university provides higher studies in the field of Medicine, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, through its 296 affiliated colleges. The university comprises 13911 faculties, 130 courses, 305 colleges, and 146282 students.

The courses are given below:
- B.Sc in Optometry, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Microbiology, Medical Radiological Technology, Ayurveda
- M.Sc in Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, Public Health, Hospital Administration, MLT-Biochemistry, Optometry
- M.Ch in Head & Neck Surgery, Surgical Oncology
- MD in Anaesthesiology, Cardiology, Homeopathy, Ayurveda,
- MDS in Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Public Health Dentistry
- The other courses are MBBS, BUMS, BHMS, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, B.M.S.S, and Post Graduate Diploma (Anaesthesiology)
Eligibility Criteria
- Entry to MBBS and BDS is granted only when a candidate scored valid marks in the NEET (UG)
- Entry to MD and MS is decided by the valid score in the NEET (PG)
- Entry to M.Ch is done on the basis of obtained marks in the NEET (SS)
- Admission to MDS is granted on the basis of NEET (MDS) score
- Entry to all other courses is decided by the entrance examination conducted by the Kerala University of Health Sciences
Scholarship
The KUHS allowed scholarships to students who secured 75% in the higher secondary exam and belongs to lower caste, backward class, & economically weak background under the guidelines of Central and State Government scholarship programs.

The other necessary facilities provided by the KUHS include separate accommodation for male & female candidates, well-equipped laboratories, free internet connectivity, a medical & health-care center, a library, transportation, conference hall, smart classrooms, etc.
