Maharaja Ganga Singh University is one of the prestigious higher education institutions that was set up by the University of Bikaner Act, 2003 in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Its headquarter is situated in Bikaner and its older name was the University of Bikaner. The university has got approval from the University Grant Commission, Delhi on 13 Feb 2004 and also included in the membership of the Association of Indian Universities. It provides a wide range of courses through its constituents and affiliated colleges at UG, PG, and Doctoral levels.
The University has the sections of Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Commerce, Education and Law. Shortly, there are five college showing offices in the subjects of English, History, Environmental Science, Microbiology and Computer Science. The vision of the college is To build responsive, responsible, sensitive, creative and thoughtful citizens with a comprehensive understanding of regional, national and international perspectives, while the mission is To strive towards the educational, cultural, economic, environmental and social advancement of the region and the nation at large by providing excellent liberal education and quality programs leading to bachelors, masters, professional and doctorate degrees. - BA in Music, Philosophy, Urdu, Rajasthani, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Hindi, Drawing & Painting, English
- B.Com in Economic Administration & Financial Management, Accountancy & Business Statistics
- M.Sc in Environmental Science, Microbiology, Computer Science (Lateral Entry & Cyber Security), Yogic Studies and Therapy Management
- M.Phil and Ph.D. in English, Environmental Science, Microbiology, History
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates looking for admission to the UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses are required to hold Higher secondary, graduate, and master degree in the relevant subject from an authorized institution
- There are no entrance exams for admission in UG, PG courses, and admission are allowed on the basis of merit in the previous qualifying exam
- Admission to M.Phil/Ph.D. is decided by the valid marks in the research entrance exam conducted by the state followed by the personal interview

The university graduates get placed at an average salary package of 1.5 lakh per annum and the highest was touched to 3 lakh per annum.
