CSAT is an entrance exam that is conducted every year by the Union Public service Commission and the main aim of this entrance examination is to recruit candidates for different Indian civil services like Indian Police Service or IPS, Indian Administrative Service or IAS, Indian Forest Service or IFS and Indian revenue service or IRS. - Any Indian who is 21 years old and who has not crossed the upper age limit as on 1st August, 2013 can appear for the CSAT entrance examination, 2014. It is important for you to note that the upper age limit for the CSAT entrance examination varies for different categories. The upper age limit for general category students is 30 years and that for SC or ST category is 35 years. All physical handicapped candidates can appear in CSAT till they reach the age of 40 years.
- All the interested candidates who are appearing in CSAT must hold a graduate degree from any recognized university. All the final year students who will get their graduate degree before the 1st of August can also apply for CSAT 2014. The graduation degree can belong to any class and candidates who are having degree from any open university are also eligible to appear in the examination.
- There are a certain number of attempts that are being offered to candidates and these attempts vary for different categories. General category candidates get 4 attempts whereas OBC category and physically handicapped candidates get 7 attempts. SC and ST category candidates get unlimited number of attempts.
- There is also a limit on the number of attempts that you make for IAS examination. If you are attending one paper of CSAT, then it will be considered as one attempt.
