The recruitment of candidates to the Indian Air Force wing, Indian Army wing or the Indian Navy wing is done through a written entrance examination. The National Defence Academy offers a residential, full time undergraduate program to the candidates and at the end of the course, all the cadets are awarded with a baccalaureate degree. The NDA undergraduate course lasts for 3 years. After passing the NDA entrance examination and taking admission in the National Defence Academy, you can choose from the two different streams and they are the science stream and the humanities stream. The science stream includes studies in computer science, physics, mathematics and chemistry. However, the humanities stream includes studies in Geography, History, Political science and Economics.
All the cadets that are joining the National Defence Academy after 10+2 examination are keep in the Academy and well trained for the next three years. Apart from the academic training and studies, the cadets are trained for their outdoor skills as well. It is compulsory for every cadet to take part in games, drills and P.T. The main mission of National Defence Academy is to focus on the character building, mental activeness and physical robustness and the leadership skills of every cadet.
