The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj CSJM University is one of the major Universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The University is one of the very few Universities located straight at the heart of a busy city. The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University is marked as a center of excellence in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The University was founded in the year 1966. But back then, the name of the University was Kanpur University. The University came into existence with the splitting of the main Agra University. Since the then Kanpur University and present Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University has taken on the responsibility of imparting higher education to the nearby regions.
