There is only one airport in this union territory:
Puducherry Airport (PNY): Located in Lawspet area of Puducherry, this airstrip is used for commercial as well as for training purposes. But over the years traffic was increasing at a larger scale, so government decided to expand the current airstrip in order to make new terminal. New terminal was constructed and inaugurated in January month of 2013. Now Spice jet has regular flights from Bangalore to this place. Currently it is located around 42m above the sea level and length of runway is 1500m. Currently there is plan to further extend it to increase the length of runway and so that it can accommodate larger aircrafts also.
