Following are some of the airports that are located in Rajasthan:
Jaipur Airport (JAI): Jaipur airport is the largest airport in this state and located in Sanganer area. In terms of art and architecture, it is far ahead of other airports in India. Over the years, due to increase in traffic of International tourist, this airstrip was given international airport status in the year 2005. Construction is medley of Rajasthani paintings, design and also modern means of decorations. There are two terminals here for domestic and international operations. Around 1000 passengers can be angled by it in One hour. Most of the national and some international flights have regular operations till here. There is a cargo terminal also; blue dart currently operates there from Ahmedabad and Delhi.
Jodhpur Airport (JDH): This Airport is used both by Indian Air force and Commercial flights. This airport has been under working from very old times 1920s when Maharaja Umaid Singh used to fly his planes and over the years popularity of this airstrip grew more. A portion of military airport has been assigned to operate as civil airport and Air India; Jet Airways have flights from Delhi and Mumbai. For the tourist this is a boon as they don’t need to travel through trains to reach here. There are seven checks in counters here and it can handle 430 passengers every hour. This airstrip is fitted with all sorts of modern navigational and landing facilities. Currently the length of runway is around 2745 m and is located 219 m above the sea level.
Maharana Pratap Airport (UDR): This lies around 22 KM away from Udaipur city and being a prominent tourist destination, lot of national and international tourists come here to see the ancient palaces. Currently it spreads in an area of 540 acres and is fitted with CAT-1 landing system. Air India, Jet Airways etc have their regular operations from Mumbai and Delhi. The length of runway is around 2281 m and it is located 513m above the sea level.
