Cooch Behar Airport (COH): This is an small airport that has operations in the Cooch Behar area of West Bengal. Since the runways of airport are quite short, only smaller flights have their operations till here. Current length of runway is around 1067 meters and is located at a height of 42 meters above the seal level. Flights from Kolkata and Guwahati are available here. But all of them are charter flights, no regular operations from major domestic players.
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU): It is the biggest international airport in Eastern region of India and serves the capital city of West Bengal-Kolkata. Earlier the name of this airport was Dum Dum, but latter changed to this name. Since it is an international airport, all sorts of modern facilities like food courts, baggage lounges are available here. Major national and international fliers have operations till here. An airport which spreads in 1670 acres of land was time to time modernized to meet the standards and recently in the year 2013, a major renovation work completed on terminals. Separate cargo terminal for cargo operations are also built here. There are two runways here and this airstrip is located at a height of 5 meters above the sea level.
Bagdogra Airport (IXB): This airport is another international one, having operations in far east regions. Several international flights from Bangkok, Paro etc are available till here. Also major flights from major cities of India are available here. This airstrip is also used by the Indian Air force. Facilities are available in ample amount and there is plan to renovate it further. It is located at height of 126 meters.
