It is always wise to check as what charges will have to be paid by you when you are using HDFC Bank Rupay Card to avoid surprises in the future related to the deductions of money. Let’s see how much you have to pay for it:
Charges for the card:
- Rs 150 needs to be paid by you to bank for using this card. This is annual fee and will be deducted from your account automatically. This will be separate from what; you have to pay for the merchant gateways.
- In case your card is lost, and you want a new one, Rs 200 is the amount that you have to pay for getting new one. 1800-26-78729 this is the toll free number that you have to call in order to clear your doubts if you have some.
- Rs 100 will charged from you if you are requesting for slip retrieval.
- In case you card is damaged and you wish to get it replaced, then in that case bank will not charge any amount from you.
Charges for the transactions from card:
- HDFC banks give their users first 5 free transactions done at HDFC bank ATM every month period from any city.
- If you are taking out money from other bank ATM but using HDFC card, then these are the conditions:
- In top 6 cities, first 3 transactions are free and then after that you will be charged. Top 6 cities are New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
- If the transaction is being done in cities apart from these top 6, then you have first 5 transactions as free.
- Now let’s see how much you have to pay after free transactions are over:
- Rs 20 for each transaction you make through the ATM.
- Rs 8.50 for non financial transactions, which means like you are not taking out money from ATM for example balance enquiry, failed transactions etc.
So these were all the details regarding the charges that you need to pay. Nothing has to be paid by you as fees when doing shopping at the merchant. But in some places like railways where they are providing you the service, you have to pay some amount called as transaction charges. But for Rupay Card, these charges will be less as this is a domestic payment gateway.
