The Changlang District is the district that holds the second position in terms of Population in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The district is bordered by the districts of Lohit and Tirap. The district in its medieval times was mainly ruled by the tribal chiefs. The district was created in the year of 1987 when land was split from the district of Tirap. The main tribal groups that reside in the district are tutsa, Tangsa, Nocte, Singpho, Bodo, Hajong, etc. The district occupies an area of 4662 sq km.The Changlang district has a population of 147951 individuals with the population density of 32 individuals per sq km. The language of the people of Changlang district is the Sino – Tibetan which is widely spoken all over the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The district does not support good transportation system for the rugged terrain that it has. Tourism is an important source of Revenue for the administration of the district.
