Agartala Airport (IXA): Around 12Km away from main city of Agartala, this airport is constructed. Currently Airport Authority of India is the administrator and manager of this land. As per the records, this is second busiest airport in this area, after Guwahati. This has been in to function from the World War II times. Over the years lot of renovation work to make a new terminal building and also to enhance facilities for aircraft parking were made. Baggage handling facility is exceptionally good. Connectivity of this airstrip with other means of transportation like Rail and Road is very good. Some of the major fliers of India like Air India; Jet Airways etc have regular flights till here. Currently there is only one runway here and its length is around 2,286m. This airstrip is located at a height of 14m above the sea level.
