To start with, the 2016 JEE admission procedure is based on the exam result and the counseling process. The JEE Main result would be followed by JEE Rank Card comprising of State Rank, All India Rank & Category Rank. Among these, just the AIR would be required for taking admission in IITs, NITs, SFIs, CFTIs & other such institutions. If your JEE cut-off is 150 or more in the JEE Main exam, then you would be selected for JEE Advanced. If you qualify in JEE Advanced examination, a further counseling schedule would be held to mark your place in any of the IIT institutions or ISM Dhanbad.
In case, you score less than 150, you would be directly called for counseling to secure admission in different engineering colleges in India, other than IITs. The counseling process of JEE Main 2016 is tentative scheduled for the 1st week of July.
After the result comes out, you must visit the JEE Main official website to check out the dates for counseling. As mentioned earlier, the counseling is a major step in 2016 JEE Main admission procedure and any error here could hamper your chances in the engineering colleges. Thus, be very careful about the documents you have to submit in the counseling center. The counseling process would verify your records regarding age, identification, qualifying exam, eligibility and so on. If you fail to produce any of these (original) documents, you would be disqualified for admission. The candidates from reserved category should bring in original proof of their reserved candidature.
