The AIPMT 2016 would decide your admission in the medical courses in India in the coming year. The counseling process would start after the release of merit list of the qualified AIPMT candidate. CBSE would only release the merit list of those candidates who have been able to achieve the specified cut off in the AIPMT examination- which is 50% for general candidates and 40% for candidates from reserved categories.
The 2016 AIPMT counseling would be conducted through August & September. It’s the DGHS (Directorate General of Health Science) which conducts the counseling of qualified AIPMT candidates. The entire procedure is covered in 3 rounds. The first round is on offline counseling, the second one is about online counseling & the third is about counseling for Delhi University. The counseling process would be conducted under 15 percent AIQ seats.
Information regarding online counseling would be released on MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) website - www.mcc.nic.in. Steps of counseling:
- Registration, filling & locking of choices
- Seat allotment in 3 rounds
- Release of the result of seat allotment in 3 rounds
- Reporting at allotted institutes post seat allotment
During the registration process, the candidate has to come up with his or her Roll number, Application form number, name & DOB.
While filling the choices, you would have to state your choice of medical college. Be careful while locking your choices as you can’t cancel them once locked.
Important AIPMT 2016 Counseling Dates
- 2nd week of August- registration, choice filling & locking
- 3rd week of August- Round 1 of seat allotment & release of the seat allotment result. The week will also mark the 1st round of reporting at allotted dental or medical colleges
- 1st week of September- Round 2 seat allotment process & release of the seat allotment result. The week will also mark the 2nd round of reporting at allotted dental or medical colleges
- 2nd week of September - Round 3 seat allotment process & release of the seat allotment result. The week will also mark the 3rd round of reporting at allotted dental or medical colleges
- 3rd week of September- Transfer of vacant seats to the state quota
