The AIPMT is the admission exam that helps the undergraduate students to secure a berth in the BDS & MBBS courses in Indian medical colleges. AIPMT holds 15 percent merit seats under All India Quota. Added to the said quota, AIPMT follows a series of reservation quotas for the candidates in the reserved category. The post here is a brief on AIPMT 2016 reservation quota.
- Candidates belonging to Schedule Caste would have 15 percent reservation of seats
- Candidates belonging to Schedule Tribe would have 7.5% percent reservation of seats Candidates belonging to OBC non-creamy layer category would have 27% percent reservation of seats in Central Educational Institutions
- Candidates who are Physically handicapped would have 3% percent reservation of seats. However, this reservation criterion is especially for candidates with locomotory disability in lower limb (50-70%). If the 3% quota seat stays unfilled given unavailability of candidates, then the seats would be expected to candidates with 40-50% disability in lower limb.

The candidates who claim themselves under the reserved quota should submit proof of their eligibility to secure admission under the quota seats.
- SC/ST aspirants must submit their caste or tribe certificate attested by proper authority
- Those in the Physically Handicapped category would have to submit their Disability Certificate attested by any of the 5 disability appraisal boards that are located in the 4 most important metro cities of India. These boards are:

Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, based in Kolkata
Madras Medical College, based in Chennai
