All India Pre-Medical Test is the national entrance test to secure admission in MBBS & BDS seats in the government medical as well as dental colleges all across the country. The date of AIPMT 2016 has already been declared and it is slated for May 1. The exam is carried by CBSE for undergraduate dental & medical seats under 15 percent All India Quota. The AIPMT 2016 eligibility criteria are:
- Candidate must be of minimum 17 years of age on 31st December, 2016. The upper age limit is 25 for general candidates & 30 years for candidates in reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC).
- Candidate should be an Indian national. However, OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) applicants are able to apply as well.
- Candidate should have passed higher secondary examination (10+2) with Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics & Biology/Bio-technology. He or she should also have English as part of the core course as followed by NCERT.
- Candidate must secure minimum 50% in PCB or else 45% in General PH. For the reserved category candidates, the eligibility cut-off is 40%.
- Applicants who have passed B.Sc. exam with any two from Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Bio-technology are also eligible to apply.
- Applicants appearing in the final year of higher secondary exam with the mentioned subjects can apply as well.
AIPMT application form & fee
The AIPMT 2016 application form is available online from the official AIPMT website. The application form was released on December 15, 2015 and the last date of online registration is January 8 & 12, 2016. The AIPMT 2016 application form fee is Rs. 1400 (no late fee) & Rs. 2800 (with the late fee) for general applicants. The same is Rs. 750 & Rs. 2150 for the reserved category candidates.

You have to upload your scanned passport-size photo, signature and finger impression of the index finger of right hand- all in JPEG format.
You can pay through e-challan or net banking or credit card or debit card.
AIPMT exam
The AIPMT exam 2016 would be conducted on May 1, 2016. It would run for 3 hours and the applicants would have to answer 180 questions. Correct answers will score 4 marks and each wrong answer will deduct ¼ mark. There would be 45 questions from each of Botany, Physics, Chemistry & Zoology. The candidates can give the exam either in English or Hindi. The exam will start on 10:00 a.m. & would conclude on 1 p.m. It would be a pen & paper based MCQ exam.
AIPMT admit card
The students can download the 2016 AIPMT admit card from 1st April, 2016. While downloading the admit card, the applicants would need the exam registration code & password. Every applicant must take the admit card in the examination hall.
AIPMT Important dates
The AIPMT 2016 important dates are:
- December 15, 2015- the first date of online AIPMT application.
- January 8, 2016- last date of online registration with e-challan
- January 12, 2016- last date of online registration through other payment modes
- January 13- February 6, 2016- last date of submitting online application through e-challan with late fee
- January 13- February 10, 2016- last date of submitting online application through other payment modes with late fee
- April 1, 2016- admit card would be uploaded on official AIPMT website
- May 1, 2016- AIPMT 2016 examination
- May 19-23, 2016- OMR sheets would be displayed.
- May 24-26, 2016- Answer sheet would be displayed
- June 5, 2016- declaration of AIPMT 2016 result.
Qualifying marks
The AIPMT 2016 qualifying marks are-
- 50% for general candidates
- 40% for reserved category candidates
- 40% for general (PH) category candidates
- 40% for reserved (PH) category candidates
AIPMT counseling
The 2016 AIPMT counseling would be conducted by MICC & DGHS for allotment of seats in MBBS & BDS classes under 15 percent of All India Quota. The counseling would be conducted in 3 rounds and would start in July or August, 2016. The counseling process would be conducted based on rank of the qualified students on merit list.
