The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board follows reservation quota for certain sections of WBJEE candidates. The reservation quota is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and minority candidates. Besides, the reservation facility is also available under defense quota, merit list and management quota. The reservation part is available just for candidates residing in West Bengal.

This is to mention here that the reservation rules would be based on the reservation rules followed by the participating institutions in WBJEE.

It is to note here that the applicants seeking application in 2021 WBJEE reservation quota must upload their concerned state, tribe, class or disability certificates signed by a competent authority during the WBJEE application process. The certificates would be further checked during counseling and any failure here would not approve the desired reservation. The certificate must be issued before the date of application.

Pwd Candidates
For engineering/technology/architecture/pharmacy courses
Reservation would be available for candidates with at least 40 percent disability regarding loco-motor disorder, speech and hearing impairment & visual impairment.
For medical & dental courses
Reservation quota would be available for candidates with minimum 50 to 70 percent disability in lower limb.

Under Minority Quota
50 percent of seats have been reserved for minority quota candidates in higher technical academic institutions.
Under Defence Quota
9 seats in Engineering/Technology have been reserved for Defence Quota candidates. Among 9, 2 seats have been reserved for Jadavpur University. Students aspiring to apply under this quota would apply to WB Rajya Sainik Board’s Home Department.
Reservation under merit list
The self financed Engineering and Technology colleges of West Bengal have got 10 percent of approved seats for reservation under merit list.
Reservation under management quota
Here too, The self financed Engineering and Technology colleges of West Bengal have got 10 percent of approved seats for reservation under management quota. The process is also applicable for self-financed courses under Burdwan University’s University Institute of Technology.
