The WBJEE is conducted every year for the undergraduate science students of West Bengal for admission in engineering and medical courses in the government & private institutions of the state. The WBJEE 2016 examination is to be held on May 17. All the students planning to appear in the examination are eagerly waiting to know about the details of the WBJEE exam and here is a short note on WBJEE 2016 Exam Pattern.
First of all, the WBJEE 2016 exam is divided into 3 halves. The first half will be on biological science. It would be a 150 marks examination that would start from 9 in the morning and would continue till 11:30 a.m. The next half is on Physics & chemistry. It would be a 100 marks examination and would run from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. According to 2016 WBJEE exam pattern, the last half is on Mathematics and would run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. It would be a 100 marks examination. No further examination would be held.
At each stage of the examination, the candidate will have to answer MCQ questions. There will be 4 options for each question and you have to mark one right answer on your OMR sheet. The questions would be further divided into 3 categories.
First stage- Biological sciences
- 1st Category- 80 x 1 mark
- 2nd category- 25x2 marks
- 3rd category- 10x 2 marks
Second stage- Physics & Chemistry
- 1st Category- 30 x 1 mark+ 30 x1 mark
- 2nd category- 5 x 2 marks + 5x 2 marks
- 3rd category- 5 x 2 marks + 5x 2 marks
Third stage – mathematics
- 1st Category- 50 x 1 mark
- 2nd category- 15x2 marks
- 3rd category- 10x 2 marks
Scoring pattern
- Category 1 - correct option will mean 1 mark and incorrect option would mean 1/4th mark
- Category 2 - correct option will mean 2 marks and incorrect option would mean ½
