The district of Kasargod is one of the important districts of the state of Kerala. The district came into being in the year 1954 which was re – organised in the year 1984. The administrative Headquarters of the district is the Kasargod town. The district of Kasargod is the northern most district of the state of Kerala. The district of Kasargod is bordered by the Dakshina Kannada (Karnataka), the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. The district is supposed to have had connections with the Arab traders. The region was under the Vijayanagar Empire in the past.
