The district of Kendrapara is one of the most important administrative districts of the state of Orissa. The district has the city of Kendrapara itself as the main administrative centre for the control of administration all along the district. The district of Kendrapara is bordered by the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur. The district is also bordered by the Bay of Bengal in the eastern part of the district. The district has two rivers of Brahmani and Baitarini which form delta in the district, both being the tributaries of Mahanadi. The district of Kendrapara covers a land area of approximately about 2642 sq km with a population of approximately 14.3 lacs individuals. The district has a population density of around about 545 people per sq km. The main languages spoken in the district are Oriya, Hindi and Substantial Bengali. The district also has quite a few places of tourist interests.
