The district of Malkangiri is one of the extremely important districts of the state of Orissa. The district of Malkangiri has the main centre for the administrative works in the city of Malkangiri itself. The district is one of the most regions of the state that has the highest concentration of Naxalites and at the same time huge number of refugees from the Dandakaranya project in the year 1965 and even some of the LTTE soldiers as well.
