The district of Mahabubnagar of Andhra Pradesh was formerly known as Palamooru district is a district in the Telangana Region. The district of Mahabubnagar is the 2nd largest district of Andhra Pradesh with respect to the land area it covers. The largest city of the district and the headquarters is the city of Mahabubnagar. The district of Mahabubnagar was formerly a stronghold of the Chola Emperors and was known as Cholawadi meaning the ‘House of the Cholas’. The medieval history of the region was primarily dominated by various different rulers with Golkonda their capital.The district of Mahabubnagar is also a participant of the list of 250 most backward districts of India. The district is not that well developed neither in the agricultural division not industrially. The district runs on the funds that it receives from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Program. The district has many notable local points of religious interest. The tourism helps to build on some revenue for the government.
