The district of Fatehgarh Sahib is one of the districts that make up the northern state of Punjab. The district of Fatehgarh Sahib came into existence in the year 1992. The district has the city of Fatehpur Sahib as the main city for the control of administration for the district. The district of Fatehpur Sahib is named after the youngest son, Sahibzada Fateh Singh, of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of the Sikhs. This is the place where they were killed by bricking them alive by the Wazir Khan in the year 1705.
