The district of Mansa is one of the 22 districts that make up the northern state of Punjab. The district has its main centre for the control of administration in the city of Mansa itself. The district of Mansa is located around the southern part of the state of Punjab sharing a state border with Haryana. The district is also bordered by the districts of Bhatinda and Sangrur. The district was under the rule of the local Sikh communities who never accepted the over rule of any other kings unless the British came into the action. The district has produced many people who gave their lives for Indian Independence. The district of Mansa covers a land area of approximately around 2174 sq km with a population that amounts up to 7.6 lacs individuals.
