The district of Fatehpur is one of the important districts of Uttar Pradesh. The district of Fatehpur has the city of Fatehpur as the main centre for the control of administration of the city. The district of Fatehpur is located along the banks of the River Ganges and the Yamuna. The district is also of great historical and religious importance to the Hindus owing to the intricate links that it has with the Puranas and the Vedas. Many excavations at various places in the district have led to the establishment of strong links with the Vedic era.
