The district of Ghaziabad is of great importance to the northern state of Uttar Pradesh because of the industrial field that it has. The district is a part of the National Capital region and is one of the important sub – urban area of the state. The district is a part of the Meerut division of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The district of Ghaziabad is bordered by the district of Baghpat, Meerut, Guatam Buddha Nagar, Bulandsahr and Harpur. The district is also bordered by the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The district has the River of Yamuna flowing along one side of the district. The district of Ghaziabad covers a land area of approximately 1175 sq km with a population of approximately about 46.6 lacs individuals. The district of Ghaziabad has a population density of approximately around 3967 people per sq km. The district is ranked third in population after Allahabad and Moradabad.
