The district of Mehsana is one of the districts that make up the beautiful state of Gujarat. The district finds its administrative headquarters in the city of Mehsana itself. The district of Mehsana finds its borders with the districts of Banaskantha, Patan, Surendarnagar, SWabarkantha, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Many excavations by archaeologists in the region have led to the discoveries of various things that point to some links with the Indus Valley Civilisation. One important site llocarewd in the district is Loteshwar. In the year 1964, land was carved of Mehsana district that led to the birth of Gandhinagar district. The main crops of the district are Jowsar, Jira, Bajra, Cotton, Oilseeds, etc. The district also has an offshore ONGC oil drilling unit.
