The district of Porbandar is hugely famous in the recent Indian History because of the fact that the district is the birth place of Mohandas KaramChand Gandhi who is better known as the Father of the Nation. The district is located in the Kathiwar peninsula region. The district was formed when the land for the district was carved out of the district of Junagadh. The district of Porbandar is bordered by the districts of Jamnagar, Junagadh and the Arabian Sea. The district of Porbandar is also a part of the Indian Mythology as it is the Native land of Sudama, the best friend of Lord Krishna.
