The district of Anand is also known as the Charotar district of the state of Gujarat. The district of Anand came into existence on the map of the world in the year 1997. The district of Anand was formed when the district was scrapped out of the district of Kheda. The district has its boundaries aligned with the districts of Kheda, Vadodara, Ahmedabad. The district is also bordered by the Gulf of Khambat which is also known as the Gulf of Cambay. The district covers an approximate land area of 2900 sq km. The district holds an approximate population of 20 lacs individuals in its land mass. The density of population of the district is very much equal to that of New Mexico at 711 individuals per sq km.
