The district of Sri Ganganagar district is the northernmost district of the north – western state of Rajasthan. The district is named after its Maharaja Sree Ganga Singh Bahadur. The district shares its boundaries with the states of Haryana and Punjab. The district also shares an international boundary with Pakistan. The district of Sri Ganganagar is also one of the few districts that lie completely in the Great Indian Desert or the Thar Desert. The district has only one source of water which is the Gang canal and the LGNP canal.
