Jhunjhunu

The district of Jhunjhunu is one of the many arid districts that complete the north – western state of Rajasthan. The district is an important part of the Shekhawati region. The district of Jhunjhunu was under the rules of the local Nawabs for over more that 250 years till 1730. The last Nawab of Jhunjhunu was Rohilla Khan who died in the year 1730 ending the reign of Nawabs and the beginning of the reign of the Sikh rulers. The district is bordered by the districts of Sikar and Churu. The district of Jhunjhunu is also bordered by the Indian state of Haryana. The district of Jhunjhunu covers a land area that is approximately equal to around about 5927 sq km with a population that is approximately equal to 21.3 lacs individuals. The district of Jhunjhunu has a population density of around 361 people living in the total administrative area of the district of Jhunjhunu. The district has many spots of tourist interest which aids the economy of the district.
