The district of Jaisalmer is one of the most glorified districts of the state of Rajasthan. The district is located completely in the Great Indian Desert or the Thar Desert. The district is bordered by the districts of Bikamer, Barmer and Jodhpur. The district also shares an international boundary with Pakistan. The district has its main administrative centre in the city of Jaisalmer itself. The district of Jaisalmer has literally no vegetation but is blessed with a lot of forts and palaces which are a pride of the district as well as the state.
